This past week has been a whirlwind of all sorts! Many late nights spent finalizing the paintings for the Inner City Youth Alive Gala and many early mornings making fashions for the boutique. I believe in total it was around 80 hours of work last week but I am not complaining, I am thankful that I was able to do it! For that, I have all of you to thank. You make it possible for me to continue making people smile each day!
I was fortunate to be approached by Amanda and Kent from Inner City Youth Alive about being part of the event. It was a special evening that warmed my heart, seeing so many people come together to make change in our Inner City! Hats off to the volunteers of the event because they truly made a spectacular evening! I have to admit, I was a little nervous going up to speak in front of a large crowd about the paintings I had created, but when I saw Fred Penner give me a nod and a wink I knew i'd be alright. It was an honour speak about my inspiration behind the 14 piece series I'd made about Inner City Youth Alive and the theme "Love Is" Then the headliner of the show, Fred Penner, took the stage and of course knocked it out of the park with a performance that made me lift up out of my seat! What a fantastic role model that guy is, dont you agree?!?!
Saturday was of course Halloween which I spent with a large group of friends at our annual Hallopalooza event! Everyone I grew up with dresses up with outstanding costumes and has an all out party that would rival any, needless to say I woke up Sunday a little later than normal lol! How was your halloween? What did you do?
This week is an exciting one because I am showcasing a couple outfits at the HUB this Thursday night along with a few other Winnipeg Designers. If you haven't been to a HUB networking event you really should come to the Fox and Fiddle anytime between 7pm-11pm. We are doing a preview of outfits for the upcoming Fashion Show November 14th at the Radison Hotel in support of Ndinawe Youth Resource Center, Facebook event can be found here and tickets are available at Swish Model Management.
ON FRIDAY I am beyond excited to be releasing my new favorite way to make clothing, using a 12 gauge SHOTGUN!!!! waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooo its a BLAST (see what I did there?) lol
This coming Friday at my boutique (223 McDermot Ave) in the exchange district I will be releasing the Hazard Collection Shotgun edition shirts. Each one is unique and layers perfectly for the chilly fall weather! For the launch we are having living mannequins in our window and you can even see the paintings that I did for the gala! If you could do me a favor and share the event with your friends I would greatly appreciate it!!!! I hope to see you there! :)
Not only is this Friday my release but its also First Fridays in the Exchange district which means that several galleries and art openings are going on throughout the Exchange from 5-9pm, if you've never been out for a First Friday I highly suggest you get out of your comfort zone!!! Always a good date night!! Check out the First Fridays Winnipeg website to get a listing of whats happening and a printable map!
